Well, it's already started. As mentioned in my article entitled "Paulson And Your Money - $700 Billion On The Line", one of the key things we need to insure as part of any company bailout is that we "don't let the rescued executives walk away with any of the funds."
Along the same vein, the government CANNOT let executives of any rescued company do ANYTHING that is considered to be the least bit wasteful or that appears to fly in the face of the American taxpayers. If allowed to occur, then someone's head needs to roll.
So, what am I getting at you ask. As it turns out, not only have our friends at AIG (American Insurance Group, Inc.) been wasting money on needless executive junkets ($400,000+ spent recently at a posh California resort for top performing salesmen), we now find out they sent a few of the good ole boys to England for a hunting trip at a cost of $86,000, all paid for by AIG (i.e. the taxpayer). All of this has occurred since receiving in excess of $125 Billion (that's with a big B!) from the government as part of the bailout plan.
The AIG executives that approved and/or participated in these trips ought to be heavily disciplined or fired outright. It's obvious they have no respect for the American taxpayer, or, at the very least, they are very out of touch with reality. And, if the government overseers in charge of AIG's $120 Billion gift don't do anything about this, they should face the consequences as well!
If this is the least bit aggravating to you, please send an email to your Congress person or to the Whitehouse. See MORELINX for links to both entities. This is rediculous and we all should shout to the rooftops that we aren't going to stand for it.
The government must insist on having voting rights on the Board Of Directors of any corporation receiving government financial assistance. Otherwise, things will only get worse.

This is what I was afraid of. If we don't insist on Congress overseeing how this money is being doled out and that the company's we give money to responsibly manage their company, we're dumb. This will end up being just another program that benefits the rich.
