Well, the clock is running down on the election and I've found a few tools that may be of interest as you're counting down the days until November 4th.
Everyone is wondering what the tax impact will be under each of the presidential candidate's plans. I looked around at several tools that perform those calculations. Obama has his own, but I suppose Conservatives might not trust the numbers - duh!
After a little investigation (very little) I found one created with the cooperation of an Accounting Professor at the University of Southern Maine. The thing I liked about it was it stated the Assumptions used in building the calculator. It also gives a little background about why they built it. They state that the calculator is "non-partisan", but I'll leave that judgment up to you. Obviously, I cannot guarantee the accuracy or political leanings of the tool.
If you're a tax expert and want to suggest a more accurate calculator, let me know. But please don't lambaste me if it doesn't agree with your interpretation of the plans. I'm telling you right now, I don't know how accurate it is. Proceed at your own risk!! Click HERE to visit the site and run your tax computations.
Also, if you haven't received your voter registration card yet and are wondering if you're actually registered, go to Can I Vote to determine if you are.
Whether you're Democrat, Republican, Independent or Other, make sure you're out there on November 4th pulling the lever. This is probably one of the most important elections in recent history and everyone needs to vote. That way, when we complain next year about how bad things are going, we can legitimately say "I voted for the other guy."
