Your Nation's Voice was created for one primary reason: to inform and educate readers on the most challenging issues that face our nation and world. We'll also post articles that are more in the editorial vein or provide tidbits of information that may be of interest to readers.
Armed with knowledge, we can demand solutions and accountability from our leaders, no longer accepting political gridlock and inaction.
And what issues are we talking about (see National Issues below)? A failing education system, the loss of American jobs overseas, loss of our industrial base, global warming, accelerating species extinction, our global water crisis, poverty, oil dependency, terrorism, jobs, illegal immigration, de-industrialization of America.... this could go on for pages, but you get the point.
This is your nation, and leaders are put in place to best represent our country's interests. It seems that our politicians have lost their sense of purpose and we must help them regain it. If enough people become vocal about the serious problems that face this country, I'm convinced our elected leaders will listen and take action.
You see, we need to do more than wait for the next election cycle to demand action. We need to expect those currently in office to uphold their pledge to represent the American people. In order to be clearly heard, we have to be louder and more aggressive than the special interest lobbyists who currently permeate Washington, D. C.
Lobbyists meet regularly with leaders in the House, Senate and Whitehouse. They have significant influence, know the Washington landscape like the back of their hands and only represent positions they are being paid to represent. Lobbyists are generally more interested in the issues of those paying them than yours and mine, the taxpayer. The disproportionate influence of corporate peddlers of persuasion has to stop!
We hope you'll use Your Nation's Voice to become informed on the issues, bounce some ideas around via our blog and then take action by regularly contacting politicians and voicing your opinion as often as it takes for your position to be heard loud and clear (Go to MORELINX for congressional contact info).
As time and money allows, we'd like to expand capabilities so we can actually collect the comments of citizens (hopefully in the millions) and submit them directly to Washington. Now, wouldn't that get some attention!
With the help and support of fine people like you, we'll turn this into a great education and communication medium and make significant headway towards putting this country back on track.
